IEEE SB, University of Malta

The Gateway to an Enriching Experience!

The IEEE is an international, professional organization, dedicated to advancing technological innovation. The IEEE Malta Student Branch is currently recruiting students to form part of its committee - the IEEE branch is an ever growing branch that strives to offer opportunities for both Engineering and ICT students, that are useful for their future careers.

As a member of the new committee, you will have the opportunity to work in a team whose aim is to bridge the gap between university life and the future working career, as well as promoting the benefits that IEEE has to offer to fellow students, through the various activities that are organised. Activities range from industrial visits, conferences to social events. These help one to grow and develop in one's working, social and organization skills. In addition to all this membership with the IEEE will be an extra asset in your CV.

Students are given the opportunity to join in the event sub-committee. The aim of this sub-committee is to organise more regular events, such as the much anticipated robot wars competition. The IEEE Malta Student Branch strongly encourages you to participate in this sub-committee to reinforce the operations of IEEE on campus and in Malta, whilst at the same time enriching your university life.

To apply for the committee / sub-committee please send an email to nathalie.cauchi<at>ieee.org or kurt.abela<at>eee.org by not later than 15th July 2012.

We are looking forward to hearing from you,

Kind Regards,

Nathalie Cauchi

IEEE's annual Student Professional Awareness Conference, which is aimed at providing students with an insight on the industries related to their studies, as well as projects being performed by respective companies has arrived!

The conference takes form in a sequence of talks subsequently with a poster session in between, where students have the possibility to inquire personally to company representatives about any issues or request relevant information.

The popularity of this event with the student body is quite established with well over 200 students attending the conference last year and so this year's SPAC will be held at the Engineering Lecture Theatre (ELT)
